THE FALL OF SECULARISM

THE FALL OF SECULARISM
by

J. A. Fullerton

When Pope John Paul II was elected pope
The downfall of communism looked remote
But in a very short space of time
The power of communism would quickly decline.

And when Benedict the sixteenth was elected pope
The fall of secularism looked remote
But in the words of PopeBenedict one can state
“Only if God is great is mankind also great.”

Pope Benedict gave us all great advice
“God must be great in public and in our private life”
For with God in our life we become prudent and wise
Of this Pope Benedict did advise.

And now Pope Francis is our pope
He has a great love for the poor and gives them great hope
The “cult of money” he says must come to an end
For the plight of the poor he does defend.

Secularism then as a way of life
I think for sure is in strife
We all want things to be great
So Our Heavenly Father we must reinstate
