THE ASSUMPTION OF THE VIRGIN MARY

August 15th is the feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The Catholic Church teaches that the Mother of God was taken up body and soul into heaven.

THE ASSUMPTION OF THE VIRGIN MARY

I'll send this woman and she will crush your head
You'll have no power over her, astray by you she will never be led
God said these words to satan after his fall from grace
And began to lead astray the whole human race.

The Virgin Mary was born free from sin
And against her it is impossible for the devil ever to win
Mary Our Heavenly Mother is full of grace
She is God's gift to the human race.

Mary is the perfect mother and has the perfect Son
And through Mary and Jesus mankind's redemption will be won
Jesus was crucified on the cross for the sins of the human race
And Mary suffered too but was always full of grace.

After Jesus was handed over into the power of men
For Mary nothing was ever the same again
Jesus rose from the dead and into heaven did ascend
Mary was assumed body and soul into heaven because to satan her will never did bend.
