AGAINST THE ROCK AND THE CHURCH THE GATES OF HELL WILL NOT PREVAIL
UPON A ROCK I WILL BUILD MY CHURCH

Saint Peter was the rock upon which
Our Blessed Lord built His church
For he had the strength of character
For which Our Blessed Lord did
search.
When the Lord was seized upon
On that first Holy Thursday night
Saint Peter cried out- “Leave Him
alone”
And put up quite a fight.
But the following day he denied his
master three times
And afterwards did cry
But Our Blessed Lord knew he was
human
And loved His God on high.
And he was dependent on His Saviour
And liked to have Him near
For when his Lord was close by
Saint Peter had no fear.
Saint Peter never forgot he denied
his master
And tried to make up for it later on
For he requested to be placed upside
down
On the cross He was crucified upon.
Our Blessed lord did not err
When choosing Saint Peter as His rock
And on ascending into heaven
Leaving Saint Peter in charge of his
flock.
Upon a rock The Lord built His church
And the rock will never fail
And against the rock and the church
The gates of hell will not prevail.
