THE WORLDS GREATEST TREASURE

One might ask, what is the world's greatest treasure. When on earth Jesus said to those around him, 'many prophets and upright people longed to see what you see and did not see it, longed to hear what you hear and did not hear it'. He was thus placing great value on His presence and on what He was teaching.

And Jesus left us a gift that is more valuable than all earthly riches. And that is himself in the form of bread and wine. The blessed eucharist received each time we go to mass is real food and real drink. And Jesus has said that unless we eat His flesh and drink His blood we will not have real life within us.

The ordained catholic priest is the only person who has the power to convert the bread and wine into Our Lord's precious body and blood.

THE WORLD’S GREATEST TREASURE
by
J. A. Fullerton

If you are lost in the desert and have nothing to drink
A glass of water would be worth millions don’t you think?
For a glass of water might just save your life
And money then wouldn’t keep you out of strife.

But when out of the desert and water is in ample supply
A glass of water you wouldn’t even buy
So the value you place on something depends on how much its need
Unless it is pursued by someone just out of greed.

But the only thing in life that brings everlasting joy
Is the love of God for it is something no one can destroy
And Jesus the Christ has left a gift meant for all
To bring us true happiness and make us all walk tall.

And the gift I mean is the eucharist, Jesus himself in the form of bread and wine
And when we receive it, we receive real life each time
For nothing else can give us everlasting pleasure
So the body of Christ is the world’s greatest treasure.
