JUDAS

Easter is appoaching once again. This year 2008 Easter Sunday falls on March 23 which is about two weeks earlier than normal. As a matter of fact it is the earliest Easter we have had in one hundred and ninety years. The time Easter falls is determined by movements of the moon.

Holy Thursday is the Thursday before Easter Sunday. Holy Thursday night is the night of the last supper and the night Jesus was betrayed.

He was handed over to his enemies by a man called Judas, one of the twelve deciples of Jesus, for thirty pieces of sliver with the seal of a kiss. But all Judas really did was to do as God expected him to do. Jesus came down to earth to fulfill His Father's will. And that was to die on a cross for the salvation of mankind. It has been written that the devil entered into Judas to entice him to betray Jesus. So Satan just played into God's hands. Not very smart.

One of the twelve he used to be
But he was unable to see
That in turning in God’s only Son
Only helped God’s will be done.

For Our Blessed Lord was meant to die
And rise again so I ask why?
If Satan was all that Smart
Why did he steal Judas’s heart?

Judas was once Our Blessed Lord’s friend
But to Satan his will did bend
And into God’s hands he did play
For the death of God’s Son was God’s way.
